A trip of a lifetime to Antarctica in January of 2012 with G Adventures, where Frank Todd and I spent 3-weeks beginning in the Falkland Islands moving to an island called the South of Georgia. We spent over a week cruising through this area. Then headed to the Antarctic peninsula. We saw a total of 8-species of Antarctic penguins: King, Adele, Gentoo, Rockhopper, Macaroni, Chin Strap and Magellanic. We saw Humpback whales, Fin whales, and several species of seals including the Leopard and Southern Fur. As well as a variety of birds: Skua, Giant Petrel and Johnny Rooks.

Fortunately, the weather was nice because we went during the Antarctic summer. The crew members were friendly and we really enjoyed our time. It was one of my favorite trips I’ve been on and I’ve been to 75-countries!
