Emerald Forest Bird Gardens offers an internship program with a focus on the care, management, and propagation of toucans, toucanets, and aracaris. Job Description:

Positions are available for 3-6 month sessions. You will learn to care for toucans and their offspring, and assist our staff in the following duties:

  • Incubation and hand rearing of toucans, toucanets and aracaris
  • Food preparation, husbandry, and record-keeping
  • Assisting in medical care for our bird collection

* Limited free housing on site, subject to availability

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Interest in, or working toward, a career in animals or aviculture preferred
