The birds in our care depend on us for their health and livelihood. We take this responsibility seriously. At Emerald Forest Bird Gardens, we do not settle for "good enough" when it comes to caring for our birds. We believe it is our duty to provide the best possible care, and provide it to the fullest. To this end, we are guided by the following principles:

   We recognize each bird as a unique, sentient being deserving of respect, compassion, and attentive care. Our work begins with a deep love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.

   To breed exotic birds is to participate in the preservation of some of nature’s most awe-inspiring creatures. We believe it is our duty to manage their preservation with care, ensuring we breed ethically, prevent exploitation, and contribute positively to the future of these species.

   Our birds receive the highest quality care we can provide. We aim to far exceed minimum standards of care through research-driven nutrition, spacious and comfortable housing, appropriate socialization, and careful health management.

   Aviculture is a dynamic field, shaped by ever-increasing knowledge in the areas of biology, behavior science, ecology, and ethics. We remain actively engaged with new research, evolving standards, and expert insight, while continuously fine-tuning our approach to care.
